Abstract: Descriptive Analysis of Music Composition “The Maritime Empires” composed

The Maritime Empires is a 19–minute symphonic poem for standard
orchestra–portraying the three–ancient maritime empires of Southeast Asia:
Srivijaya Empire, Butuan Empire, and Majapahit Empire. The composition
features the amalgamation of traditional music materials of Southeast Asia and

western contemporary musical grammar and techniques. The symphonic poem
aims to project a full dimension of sound scenario including instrumentation,
rhythm, texture, and tone color. In this article, only the Srivijaya Empire will be
presented.

บทนำา

“มหาอาณาจัักรภาคพ้�นสมุทร” (The Maritime Empires) เป็็นบทเพลงในลักษณะของ
ซิิมโฟนิกโพเอ็ม (symphonic poem) มีความยาวป็ระมาณ ๑๙ นาที บทเพลงนี�บรรยายภาพของ
อาณาจัักรบริเวณที�เป็็นภาคพ้�นสมุทรของเอเชีียตะวันออกเฉีียงใต้ที�ยิ�งใหญ่่ในอดีตกาล ถุ้อเป็็นภาค ๒

ต่อจัากบทเพลงมหาอาณาจัักร (The Empires) ที�ผู้ป็ระพันธ์เคยป็ระพันธ์ไว้เม้�อ พ.ศ. ๒๕๖๑
