Incorporating Additional Balance Training to Improve Flexibility and Stability (Figure 1)
Introduction
Maintaining a well-balanced spinal column is crucial for optimal body motion
in daily life. However, flexibility of the hips and knees also play a significant role in
movement. To further enhance stability and flexibility, additional balance training
exercises can be incorporated into a routine.
Objective
The objective of this program is to improve flexibility and stability in individuals
who suffer from degenerative disc disease with an early state of instability.
The preferred technique is a combination of passive and active stretching exercises
performed without stretching the well-balanced back.
