- Enhanced meditation during both sitting and walking techniques, as the brain
is occupied with controlling the abdomen, thereby eliminating the major
obstacle of thinking disturbance, leading to deeper and stronger concentration,
mindfulness, and better body and mind control.
- Prevention of metabolic syndrome, as constant abdominal contraction induces
allied muscle contraction, leading to increased fat and carbohydrate consumption,
and better control of blood sugar, lipids, and belly diameter.
It is essential to note that the above findings are based on evidence gathered from
longitudinal follow-up of a limited number of patients. Further research and elucidation
are necessary.
Conclusion
In summary, an alternative and efficient body and mind training program
for the aged is proposed, with the aim of promoting well-being. Although the evidence
of its beneficial effects is incomplete, trainees are expected to experience gradual
improvement in body form and motion, as well as psychological stability and happiness
during the training period.
