Ratchathan Pun Suk Project (Good Health Good Hearts Project)

King Rama X set up a committee for the project on 11 November 2019 as he noticed that

the correction department “Ratchathan” hospital not only had been the only hospital under
the Ministry of Justice providing medical services to many inmates throughout the country,

but also was short on personnels, medical equipments and medications. In order to provide
equal access to quality health care for the sick inmates so they could return to the society in

good health once they completed the sentence. The king established the Ratchathan Pun Suk
Project or the Good Health Good Hearts Project. On 28 December 2019, the king and the queen

as consultants to the project along with Princess Bajrakitiyabha, the president of the project,
presided over the opening ceremony at the correction department hospital. Their Majesties the

and the state correction centers. Moreover, Their Majesties the King and the Queen advised
a systematic approach for problem solving of which led to collaboration among responsible

sectors in expediting medical services for the sick inmates according to the equality
in humanitarian principles. (Ministry of Justice, 2020) This Ratchathan Pun Suk Project is

an example of “enhancement” for the advancement of medical services and public health
according to the King Rama X’s initial royal command, “I will continue, preserve, enhance,

and rule the land justly for the perpetual benefit and happiness of the people.”
