education and research, to generate graduates and brign about personnel development in
medicine, science, public health, technology, and environment. Since 2017, the princess has

expanded services to cover all medical fields, by building the Chulabhorn Chalermprakiet
Medical Center and expanding Chulabhorn Hospital to 400 beds. (Chulabhorn Royal College, 2024)

Furthermore, Princess Chulabhorn has determined to solve rabies problem since 2016.
Information from department of livestock development, Ministry of Agriculture showed positive

results for rabies from tested animal heads at an average of 49 samples per month in 2016.
The World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Organization for Animal Health

collaborated with countries with high incidence to be free of rabies by the year 2020 according
to the aspiration of Princess Chulabhorn. The initiative brought veterinarians, physicians,

public health personnels, officers from department of livestock development, local
organization officers, public relations department officers and others to work together to maintain

disease-free animals and to save humans from rabies. This project, started in 2017, corresponds
with the one health approach project initiated in 2021 by the WHO, the food and agriculture

organization of the united nations, the united nations environment programme, and the World
Organization for Animal Health (previously Office International des Epizooties, OIE). It has accepted

the concept of “one world, one health” originated from the meeting in 2003 emphasizing
the interrelationship among humans, animals, and environment, as public health problems

cannot be limited to human health alone but also to include animal health and environment
                  issues as well. (Panlar, 2016; Department of Local Administration, Ministry of Interior, 2017;

Wikipedia, 2024) The Director of the WHO appreciated Princess Chulabhorn’s effort on this
important issue during her royal visit to the WHO at the end of March 2024, as well as the

collaboration in organizing the 9 Princess Chulabhorn International Science Congress that will take
                                               th
place in Thailand on the theme of “The Challenges of One Health: The Roles of Biosciences
