His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklao Chaoyuhua (King Rama X) has been
actively involved in sustainable development efforts long before ascending to the throne.
Below is a summary of his initiatives of those operations that have made significant contribution
to SDG no. 3 (Good health and Well-being), SDG no. 4 (Quality Education), SDG no. 6 (Clean Water
and Sanitation), and SDG no. 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
Regarding SDG no. 3 (Good health and Well-being), His Majesty King Rama X has committed
to this goal since his time as the Crown Prince. He presided over the opening of all 21 Crown
Prince Hospitals across Thailand, starting with the first one in 1978. He has consistently visited
these hospitals and regularly donated funds and medical equipment. Moreover, His Majesty has
served as a role model for health promotion through sports and exercise, with initiatives such as
the “Bike for Mom” project and the “Bike for Dad” project in 2015 and the “Oon Ai Rak (warmth

Regarding quality education as outlined in SDG no. 4, His Majesty King Rama X has
emphasized 4 key principles for the nation’s education policy on education. These include
1) fostering a positive attitude toward the country, 2) establishing a stable moral foundation,

Since 2009, when His Majesty was Crown Prince, he has supported education through various
initiatives, including the establishment of the Crown Prince Royal Scholarships Foundation.
He also allocated royal funds to build 6 schools in rural areas and placed 8 schools under

Project which aims to benefit society by fostering community solidarity.
Regarding clean water and sanitation as outlined in SDG no. 6, His Majesty King Rama X
has supported the government’s large-scale groundwater procurement project to address
the drought issue through a royal initiative. This project will provide water to 15 communities

Regarding sustainable cities and communities as outlined in SDG no. 11, His Majesty
King Rama X is deeply concerned about the quality of life for his people. He has visited many
underserved communities in Bangkok such as Phra Khanong, Khlong Toei and Yannawa districts.
Additionally, he oversaw the creation of King Rama IX memorial park, which was built on
