Abstract: Speech communication in the world of virtual reality

The development of telecommunications has been very rapid
during the past three decades. Digital communication systems have replaced
analog. The development of computer systems has a great influence on
human communication. Especially when the communication platform is
characterized by the world of virtual reality, it is entering the way of life in
the digital age and plays an important role in speech communication,
both interpersonal communication and communication within groups and
within organizations, including persuasive communication. Moreover,
virtual reality (VR) is also used to simulate realistic environments. It allows
users to feel and interact with computer-generated situations instead of real
places or real situations through devices for creating virtual reality worlds
such as HTC VIVE, Oculus Quest and PICO VR. Applications of virtual
reality that are useful for both interactive and noninteractive discourse
happen in many industries. However, even virtual reality can cause negative
effects, such as illness, due to heavy and prolonged use, separating ourselves
from society. In the next 10 years, we probably cannot avoid accepting
virtual reality into our way of life, just as we once accepted social media
wholeheartedly.
