Research topics on Mother and Child group
Approximately one-third of the projects focused on maternal and child health
(36.3%), particularly those from mid-career researchers (n = 7, 50%). As shown in Table
3, these sixteen mother-child projects in turn focused on dental health (n = 4), general
health (n = 3), antenatal or pregnancy services (n = 2), and one project each on mental
health, use of antibiotics, smoking, acute respiratory infection in children, Covid-19,
diarrhea, eczema, and tuberculosis.

CRF research topics by disease group
The projects funded by the CRF have focused on more than 12 disease groups
(Table 4). Covid-19 and dental health were the two most common with 13.6% each
(n = 6), while general health issues made up 11.4% (n = 5). Others conditions, which
accounted for 2-4 projects each, include antenatal care or pregnancy, antibiotics,
dengue, tuberculosis, herb, nutrition, sexual health, and stroke. The remaining eight
projects (18.1%) were the only ones to focus on their disease of interest, and covered
eczema, H.pylori, diarrhea, nurse education, epilepsy, hepatitis B, helminths, and
gender violence.
