Results
The CRF awarded 44 research grants, of which 30 were assigned to young and
14 to mid-career (n=14) researchers. Grant were spread across 11 UHS departments
and institutions (see Table 1). The average age (mean, standard deviation) of awardees
is 37.7, 6.8 years, with a majority of awardees female (61%). The junior researchers were
5-6 years younger than the mid-career researchers (mean + SD = 35.8 +4.8 vs. 41.7 + 8.6).
Thirty-two of grants (72%) were awarded to four major UHS faculties (Medicine,
Public Health, Dentistry, Pharmacy) while the rest were distributed across the rest of
faculties and UHS affiliated hospitals.
