                    The name of the Royal Society was changed to the Royal Institute of Thailand
             in 1933. HRH Prince Wan Waithayakon was the first president during 1933-1947 and
             1969-1975 (acting president 1969-1973). He was a great statesman as well as an eminent

             literary figure. He was Deputy Prime Minister and President of the United Nations
             General Assembly. His talents in diplomacy and foreign affairs are recognized
             globally. He is famous for defining vocabulary in Thai and foreign languages. In 1989,
             the UNESCO declared Prince Wan Waithayakorn as a Great Scholar and Diplomat.

             The next president of the royal institute, Phraya Anuman Rajadhon was appointed
             as acting president in 1947-1969. He was a well-known academic in humanities,
             especially in linguistics, literature, and culture. The commemoration of the centenary
             of his birth was staged in 1988 by the UNESCO. (The Royal Institute of Thailand, 2014)



             Celebration of the Upcoming Centenary of the Royal Society of Thailand
                    The Royal Society of Thailand will organize various activities to celebrate this

             special occasion from 2024-2026, starting with a series of academic meetings by all 3
             academic institutions and the Office of the RST in every quarter as follows:Quarter 1
             (January-March) by the Academy of Office of Moral and Political Sciences

             Quarter 2 (April-June) by the Academy of Science

             Quarter 3 (July-September) by the Office of the Royal Society of Thailand

             Quarter 4 (October-December) by the Academy of Arts.
