A Brief Introduction
The Royal Society of Thailand was originally established as the Royal Society
of Siam in the reign of King Prajadhipok (Rama VII) on 19 April 1926 (Figures 1 & 2).
By 2026, the society will reach the centenary – a milestone to celebrate. The Royal
Society of Siam was changed to the Royal Institute of Thailand in 1934 and subsequently
the Royal Society of Thailand in 2015. (The Royal Society of Thailand, 2020)
