The affairs of the Royal Society are managed by a Council and an Administrative
Division. The council consists of fellows and supervises policy-making and academic
affairs. The president and two-vice presidents of the council are elected every two years
by the fellows. The council holds quarterly meetings in which all fellows participate
in both academic and administrative activities. The Administrative Division is
headed by the secretary general who is also the secretary of the council. It supports the
committees whose responsibility is to carry out the academic work of the royal society.
The three academic institutions hold twice-monthly meetings that provide a platform
for academic presentations and adhere to specific departmental policies according to
the Council of the Royal Society. (The Royal Gazette, 2015)
