Under Prime Minister Dollfuß's leadership, Austria presented the
Siamese King with two programs in German and English to choose, including a
lot of sightseeing. King Prajatibok was very satisfied with the second program.
His Majesty was looking forward to spending time in a beautiful country like
Austria. The cancellation of the visit to Austria by the Siamese King came after
the murder of Prime Minister Dollfuß by the Austrian Nazis. The fact is that the
Austrian government was already under the influence of Berlin and had almost
no freedom in terms of foreign affairs any more. The German envoy in Vienna
was notified by Berlin of all contacts and correspondences with Siam.
