King Prajatibok’s remarkable activities and sightseeing visits to numerous
places in many European countries lead to the hypothesis that King Prajatibok
actually did, at this time, not plan to abdicate in 1935. His Majesty came to this

decision only once the situation was hopeless and the negotiations with the
Siamese government had failed without any compromise.
