          Volume XIII – 2021



                The point that mandala reflects the creator’s inner self, supports a concept

          that the art making process is as important as the final art product. The art making
          process helps the person to explore and express inner self within apprehension.
          The circle art or mandala can represent something meaningful which serves the

          philosophy and aims of the present art education curriculum to develop students’
          self and social awareness, and life skills for the 21  century.

                Regarding the traditional mandalas and its inspiration on contemporary art
          and therapeutic art consistently, I do believe that art plays important roles in

          human lives for communicating thoughts and creativity, providing shape values
          and expressing emotions. One of my art activities include the art creation with a
          circle to depict the artist’ own identity and feeling, etc.


                The following artworks created by students are examples in support of the
          idea of circle shape and pattern as a mean for personal reflection being driven in
          the creative process within the students’ art activities;
