Pattern of “circle with a center” is the basic structure of creation that is

reflected from the micro to macro in the world. Sun, tree trunk, and flowers with
the pattern spiraling outward and inward, or radiating outward, all reflect the
primal mandala pattern. Wherever a center is found radiating outward and inward,

they are mandalas. As a matter of transformation, the mandala concepts
transformed to contemporary culture symbols and meanings respectively.

Visual art also use the circle pattern to create artworks. Such pattern are
found in nature, i.e. in biology, geology, chemistry, physics and astronomy. Currently,

mandala became a diagram or pattern in art creation on symbolic meanings.

Well-known Thai contemporary artists such as Pichai Nirand and Pratueng
Emjareon created art works based on the Buddhist notions of the universe,

wisdom, life cycle, and the impermanence of human life, as found in the mandala
          symbols. (figures 4-7)
