In the early days of such software students still used the old technology
of copying information into their workbooks. Then, with the advent of laptops
and tablets, learning life in the classroom was transformed. Now notes could be
typed and saved directly into the new device. After that came the smartphone,
which could snap images and information and record sounds and clips.
The advantage was that there was more time for discussion and revision.
Unfortunately, no matter how advanced the technology became, students who
didn’t try to understand (or who tried not to understand!) would never master
the subject.

Thai Language teaching is now even more advanced. Students with
smartphones are urged to download four applications from the Royal Society
of Thailand: the Thai Dictionary, Read and Write, Geographical Names, and
ASEAN Vocabulary. Now they don’t have to worry about wrong spelling or
some language rules. They can check information right away and have more time
for discussion.
