                   development of human resources for the country by organizing training programs in various

                   topics, organizing meetings and conferences to exchange and distribute updated knowledge to
                   scientists in the regions. The institute also facilitates bringing together Thai and foreign scientists

                   with common interests to collaborate and exchange knowledge.  As an international coordinating
                   center, Chulabhorn Research Institute has organized various special programs that are essential

                   in the progress of the country and the world based on urgent needs in many occasions,
                   for example, the Chulabhorn Pattana project, the Siam ruby to develop villages along the

                   Thai-Cambodia borders project, the orchid and ornamental plant project, the Chulabhorn
                   36 underwater park project (since 2536 BE), the preservation of herbal plants and application

                   project, the earthenware project, the arts and crafts project, etc.
                       Regarding the dissemination of scientific knowledge, Chulabhorn Research Institute

                   has organized meetings and conferences at regional, national, and international levels.
                   Princess Chulabhorn is committed to organizing the Princess Chulabhorn International Science

                   Congress in Thailand for distinguished scientists both Thai and foreign to exchange knowledge
                   and experience as well as to promote the application of new knowledge to improve health

                   and protect environment. She aims to organize such a congress every 4 or 5 years. So far,
                   there were nine congresses organized, each with more than 800 attendees.  The first congress

                   in 1987 was titled “Natural Products;” the second in 1992 on “Environment, Science and
                   Technology: The Challenges of the 21  Century;” the third in 1995 on “Water and

                   Development: Water is Life;” the fourth in 1999 on “Chemicals in the 21st Century;” the fifth
                   in 2004 on “Evolving Genetics and Its Global Impact;” the sixth in 2007 on “The Interface of

                   Chemistry and Biology in the “Omics” Era: Environment & Health and Drug Discovery;”
                   the seventh in 2012 on Cancer: From Basic Research to Cure;” and the eighth in 2016 on

                   “Environmental Health: Inter-linkages among the Environment, Chemicals and Infectious
                   Agents.” For the 9  Princess Chulabhorn International Science Congress that took place on

                   15-18 December 2024, the theme was “The Challenges of One Health: The Roles of
                   Biosciences and Chemistry.” It was a royal tribute and a commemoration of the grace of

                   Conclusion
                       The Royal Institution plays a very important role in the advancement of science in

                   Thailand.  Since the reign of King Rama IV, western science has been welcomed with open arms.
                   King Rama IV himself was a distinguished scientist. Furthermore, every king in Chakri Dynasty has

                   given importance to science education, the cultivation of personnels with integrity for the benefit
