Foreword

The Royal Society of Thailand is the national learned institution established
by King Rama VII in 1926. Members of the Royal Society of Thailand are royally
appointed as scholars of the King. One of our contributions to the country is to
serve as a national and international forum for the communication and
sharing knowledge from major disciplines through issuing regular journals
both in Thai and English.

The Main Theme of the International Journal of the Royal Society of Thailand
(IJRST) 2020 is “Inequality”. The issue of growing inequality has recently come to
attention worldwide, which has affected the development of different countries
and the global community. This Vol. of 2020 contains five articles on the theme
of inequality and five academic articles from Fellows of different Academies of the
Royal Society as well as from other institutions. The articles are an expression of
academic contribution from the major fields of academic excellence of the Royal
Society: The Academy of Arts, the Academy of Moral and Political Science and the
Academy of Science. It is also a great honour to have an article from His Excellency,
Georg Schmidt, the German Ambassador to Thailand.
The Royal Society is responsible for the academic work of the government
and is a Thai language reference centre. The society aims to provide intellectual
resources for research, references, educational services and routinely
publishes academic-specific dictionary textbooks and encyclopedias of all
disciplines including regular journal issues in both Thai and English.
In the name of the Royal Society of Thailand, it is my great pleasure to
present to the readers the 2020 volume and convey my sincere appreciation to all
contributing authors from the Royal Society of Thailand, other international
institutions, and to the Journal editors and team for their diligence and expertise.
