Abstract: Buildings Fire: Causes and Prevention

From statistics, loss of lives and properties due to fire on buildings in
Thailand is still high although official building regulations on fire protection
are very strict. The design architects and engineers have to follow the

regulations closely. The design drawings should be carefully checked before
the construction starts. During construction stage, the workers should be
well instructed about precautions against all kinds of dangers, especially
those from fire.

The maintenance period is very important. There should be manuals
of using and taking care of the building, especially the electrical appliances
and equipment, insulation of electrical wires, fire-warning system and so on,
in order to reduce the damage due to fire hazard.
