Moul Vanna is a medical doctor and the Executive Director of Action for Health
and Development (AHEAD) an NGO that works to improve the health of poor
an under-served communities in rural Cambodia. She collaborates with partner
organizations to implement studies of health and coordinate research with local
stakeholders.
Nicky Almasy is a professional photographer, video-maker, and published author
with a special interest in health and culture in Asia. He has worked on community
engagement and public engagement for clinical research to improve the communication
with and representation of study participants and their communities.
Bunreth Voeurng is the Director of the Provincial Health Department in Battambang,
Cambodia. He is an experienced physician and he the coordinates the implementation
of health services and the accompanying medical research done to support health.
He was responsible for the response to COVID-19 in Battambang and is currently
pursuing a doctoral degree based on the data from this activity.
Phaikyeong Cheah is the Head of Bioethics and Engagement at the Mahidol-Oxford
Tropical Medicine Research Unit. A highly-cited researcher, she has a particular
interest in engagement with vulnerable study populations so that they are able to
participate in medical research. A pharmacist by training, her current work covers a
very wide range of diseases, studies and countries.
Kesinee Chotivanich is an associated Fellow of the Royal Society of Thailand and
Professor of Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University. She is the Head of the
Malaria Laboratories and an international expert on antimalarial drug sensitivity, and
has made major contributions to the control of drug-resistant falciparum malaria.
She leads the coordination of research collaborations between FTM and its partner
institutions.
Thomas J Peto is an epidemiologist in the Department of Malaria and Critical Illness
at the Mahidol-Oxford Tropical Medicine Research Unit. His research is centred on
malaria elimination in Southeast Asia and he conducts fieldwork in Cambodia.
He previously worked in The Gambia on infant hepatitis B vaccination, and in
Tanzania on severe malaria.
