Scholars could not agree upon many important dates in the past. Even the present Thai Calendar includes lunar Buddhist feasts. Both old and new generations of Thai people are at a loss to find their birthdays in the lunar calen- dar, which is a part of the Thai culture. Astrologers using Brahminical dates filled in the gaps. Taking the Julian Calendar as a starting point, this article, while respecting the old Thai ways of computing, attempts to find formulas using scientific data, mathematical decimals and a new per- petual calendar in order to calculate past, present, and future events. The findings transform the lunar to the modern solar calendar currently in use, which can also be traced back beyond the Chris- tian era. Many unknown but important religious, historical, even personal dates thus have been uncovered systematically. Also many festivals in the future can be calculated precisely. Key words : date calculation, lunar calendar, solar calendar ˘Ò
