Wind waves are also a major cause of danger for marine tourism. Wind waves in Thailand are under the influence of monsoon winds of seasonal character, i.e. the southwest monsoon and northeast monsoon. These monsoons can produce strong, big waves and extreme winds at sea. Thailand also normally receives the effects of tropical cyclones, such as storm surges. Besides the natural phenomena that cause a danger to tourists, lack of caution is a cause of danger to tourists too. For example, to avoid an accident, scuba divers have to prepare themselves well prior to diving; for example, they have to calculate beforehand and how much time they will spend underwater and also the depth to which they are going to dive. Such measures can help to prevent the danger that the scuba diver faces. Key words : dangers at sea, sea travel ÒÙ
