Abstract Use of Bone and Tissue Allograft in Treatment of Patients with Spinal Disorder Yongyudh Vajaradul Fellow of The Academy of Science, The Royal Institute, Thailand Salyapong Sanphakit Rathathai Maungtham The first bone allograft application in spine surgery was performed on 3 rd October, 1985. There were 715 with 395 female and 320 male patients. Orthopaedics related spine surgery patients were 476 cases (66.6%) and neurosurgery oriented patients was 293 cases (33.4%). The maximum age range of the operated patients was 11-20 years 193 cases (26.99%), the next age range was 51-60 years 105 cases (14.68%). Most of the allograft use in this study were freeze dried bone allograft that is 564 cases (78.9%), deep frozen bone allograft 116 cases (16.2%), combined freeze dried and deep frozen bone allograft 29 cases (4.1%), freeze dried dura mater 4 cases (0.6%) and 2 cases (0.2%) human bone hydroxyapatite. The often operated cases were deformity 328 cases (45.87%) and most of them were scoliosis (244 cases). There were 402 cases (66.45%) in posterior fusion technique. There is no report of complication from the surgeons. Key word : allograft, spine surgery
