At least three main rings, A, B, C may be observed. The outer ring A is not as bright as ring B which is most conspicuous. Between A and B is a dark gap known as Cassini division. The inner ring C is the darkest ring. Later, four more rings were discovered. They are D, E, F, G ring. D ring is inside ring C. Next to ring A on the outside are rings F, G, E respectively. But the images taken by the spacecraft flybys show thousands of the ring of Saturn. Ring matter varies in size, ranging from a very tiny dust to a boulder as big as a small house. The main rings lie inside the so - called Roche’s limit which is created by the tidal force arising from Saturn’s main body. The other important properties of the ring are also discussed. Saturn moves alowly eastward in the sign of zodiac. It is in Gemini and Cancer in 2005. In 2006 Saturn will be in Cancer and Leo. Opposition dates are given up to 2015.
