Guggenheim Museums of Modern Art always tried to select outstanding architects who will design exceptional works that will be expressive of the avant-garde architecture of the time. The Guggenheim Museum at New York City by Frank Lloyd Wright and the one at Bilbao, Spain by Frank Gehry are both avant-garde architecture of the period in spite of half a century of time separation and the architectural theme has evolved from Modern to Post Modern Architecture.
