Úıı Abstract Khrueang Pradu Somjai Nimlek Fellow of the Academy of Arts, The Royal Institute, Thailand Khrueang Pradu is the roof structure of and edifice built in the traditional Thai architec- tural style. It is a perfect structure in terms of shape, the function of the wood, the transfering of weight in stages from the ridge beam, the queen post, the upright member, to the main or principal beam. Khrueang Pradu has been in use since the Sukhothai and Ayutthaya periods, and again in the reign of King Rama V of the Rattanakosin Period.
