When the Earth is rotating our sky is moving with the Earth from West to East. The moment that the western horizon meeting the celestial objects is what we say they are setting. Rising is when they meet the eastern horizon. Rising, setting, Western point, Eastern point, day and night are due to the spinning of the Earth. The revolution of the Earth around the Sun causes rising and setting to be earlier each day by about 4 minutes, or 2 hours in a month. To our naked eyes, we can see 7 wanderers among 21 brightest stars in the sky. Day names came from these 7 wanderers. Thai month names are also related to the signs of zodiac. Stars and planets up in the sly are wonderful to witness. There are many other celestial objects that can be photographed though telescopes, such as nebulae and galaxies. Keywords: Earth’s rotation, revolution, rising, setting, planets, stars, constellations, nebulae, galaxies, universe
