Only 699 crossings have the systems to prevent accidents. It means that over one thousand crossings do not have the accident-preventing systems installed, which result in frequent accidents. There are many causes of accidents due to poor visibility, environment, faulty mechanical equipment at the crossings, carelessness, and ignoring traffic rules. There should be guidelines for solving these traffic problems, the setting up of necessary instruments and traffic signs which various departments responsible should join forces to provide safety and eliminate accidents. Keywords: railway crossing, railway, train, accident
