171 ศ. ดร.มงคล เดชนคริ นทร์ วารสารราชบัณฑิตยสถาน ปีที่ ๓๘ ฉบับที่ ๓ ก.ค.-ก.ย. ๒๕๕๖ Abstract A System Software for the Microcontroller Board for Learning Mongkol Dejnakarintra Fellow of the Academy of Science, The Royal Institute, Thailand This article presents a software to be used as a basic operating system of the Microcontroller Board for Learning, which is the hardware that the author has previously presented. The main objective of the operating system at hand is to facilitate the user of the microcontroller board in downloading his program for hardware control to the RAM on the board, modifying the data in the RAM, displaying them, and running the whole or a part of the program. Following Antonakos (1996), the author wrote the software in the Intel 8088 assembly language, assembled it, burned it to the ROM on the board, and performed a test run of a user program. The board and the system software are found to work satisfactorily and therefore proper for any user who wants to learn the functioning of the microcontroller board through a software. Keywords: microcontroller, microprocessor, system software, IC 8088
