เส้นทางนั บศตวรรษของบทประพั นธ์เพลง “เปียโนคอนแชร์โตแห่งกรุงสยาม” 192 The Journal of the Royal Institute of Thailand Vol. 38 No. 4 Oct-Dec 2013 Abstract A Century-long Path of “Piano Concerto of Siam” Natchar Pancharoen Associate Fellow of the Academy of Arts, The Royal Institute, Thailand “Piano Concerto of Siam” is a full-scale piece of contemporary classical music in the form of concerto for piano and string orchestra. It was newly composed in 2013 by a notable Thai composer, Professor Narongrit Dhamabutra. The composition consists of seven well-known traditional Thai tunes originally written by old masters, and later arranged for piano solo by Col Choochart Pitaksakorn, National Artist 2010. A long historical path of the piece is very unique. The blend of Thai sound and Western harmony is carefully crafted. The world premiere at the Chulalongkorn University auditorium on July 27, 2013 made the audience spellbound.
