Man and animals have been in close contact since time immemorial. Animals feature as domestic animals appreciated by man or as ferocious beasts that induce his dread. Therefore folk tales and myths of many countries are about animals and mythical  animals that may have intimate relationship with man. The animals are birds or beasts that play some roles in supernatural stories, magic incantation and divination, Such stories are in general similar all over the world, especially in neighboring countries with similar environment and beliefs.
