The Journal of the Royal Society of Thailand Vol. 41 No. 3 July-September 2016 140 Abstract Production of Carbon Nanotube on Cobolt Catalyst in Fluidized Bed Somsak Damronglerd Fellow of the Academy of Science , The Royal Society of Thailand Department of Chemical Technology , Faculty of Science , Chulalongkorn University Sompoch Pooperasupong Department of Chemical Technology , Faculty of Science , Chulalongkorn University Brigitte Caussat-Bonnans Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse , Universit de Toulouse, France Carbon nanotube was produced in stainless 304L column with diameter 50 mm> and height 1,000 mm. Alumina particles with diameter 81.4 micron were coated with cobalt 3.3% by weight with diameter of 6.1 nanometer. Cobalt catalyst was activated by heating in hydrogen atmosphere at 450 ํC for 1 hour. Mixed gas (Ethylene: Hydrogen: Nitrogen = 400 : 200 : 200) was fed at the bottom of column to fluidized catalyst particles. The optimum condition of this experiment was operated with catalyst 20 grams, temperature 600 ํC, and concentration ratio of ethylene 0.50. It could produce carbon nanotube 58.6% from fed carbon.
