46 Proceedings of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Congress III. Experiment and Discussion In this section the collected velocitymeasurement results of treated neutrophils and healthy neutrophils will be discussed. Trajectory of each distinct neutrophil from projection of 60x magnification images is shown in Figure 3. The trajectory of healthy neutrophil (Figure 3 A) is smooth and continuous because healthy neutrophils had fine circular membrane which facilitated rolling phenotype on E-selectin (Figure 2). For TNF- α and glucose-treated neutrophils, their membrane became irregular with the presence of filopodia growing from the cell membrane (Figure 2). This caused their trajectory to be disconnected. PMA-treated neutrophils did not exhibit rolling and remained firmly adhered to E-selectin upon capture.
