22 Proceedings of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Congress - The fifth Postulate of Euclidean Geometry is not a form of thought or analytic statement but a statement of content or synthetic statement. Its reality is to be checked and found out that it is only probable. - Rules of proofs 1) If the proof is invalid, no truth can be asserted. 2) If the proof is valid, the level of truth will follow the weakest premise used. 3) The levels of truth can be certainty, probability, or falsity. - Certainty = 100% of truth - Falsity = 0% of truth - Probability = more than 0% but less than 100% of truth. Content of Physics Physics uses Logic andMathematics, then adds a postulate that satisfies human experiences: that is the reality of the Physical World. This Physical World had been the basis and criteria for choices of Arithmetical suppositions. So sometimes Physics is considered as an extension of Mathematics and enjoys the same privileges. However there are still phenomena of the Physical World that remained unexplained by the established Laws and Theories of Physics. They wait for further establishment of Laws and Theories to cover them. Content of Chemistry The Chemical reactions follow the Table of Mendelejeff which is accepted as Postulate in Chemistry. Consequently many phenomena in Chemistry can be stated but cannot be explained why, e.g. why water has characters quite different from H 2 and O 2 . In chemistry, eachmolecule has a slight degree of difference from each other, whichmakes the chemical rules not so exact as those of Physics. Content of Biology The characteristical Postulate of Biology is life, which seems to have purpose in the birth, growth and declining of organisms. Life phenomenon cannot be ruled, but estimated into statistics. Each organism is supposed to have a life-force, which elopes the mechanical calculation. Is there any finality in the life-force? Yes or No depending on the schools of Philosophy: Mechanism or Vitalism.
