3 Proceedings of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Congress H.R.H. PRINCESS MAHA CHAKRI SIRINDHORN’S EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND HER WORK ON INTERDISCIPLINARY APPROACH Piyanart Bunnag When H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was graduated at the Bachelor Degree level fromChulalongkornUniversity, she has followed the lifelong examples of her revered parents, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. Since the year 1980 onwards H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn has initiated the implementation of various royal development projects to help a large number of people, especially those fromunder-privileged communities, both in Thailand and other countries, in particular the neighbouring ASEAN countries. Her royal development projects were formulated and have grown continuously by her vision of working on interdisciplinary approach based on her educational background both formal and informal education. H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s invaluable interdisciplinary visions and skills have assured her to give thorough and far-sighted direction to all of her royal projects. This has been one key factor behind great success of all of her royal projects in realizing significant improvement in the well-being and quality of life of the poorest and the neediest in a sustainable manner, i.e. in a way that economic, social, and environmental objectives have been balanced along to interdisciplinary approach.
