At present, Brunei have five trained and certified counselors in arts therapy skills and become the practitioner. School counsellor uses creative arts therapy approaches are called as school counsellor who practices creative arts therapy skills. 2. Background of the Study The Creative arts therapy practice is still at a budding stage in Brunei. However, it has been an inspiration when the pioneer groups were able to apply the Creative Arts Therapy skills into their practices of helping professions. The art therapy skills have been immediately applied into practices after we attended a few basic workshops held in Malaysia. The first level of Creative ArtsTherapywas organised under PERKAMAConsultancy.The second level was organized under Counselling Unit and Students Welfare, Univeristy Utara Malaysia and the third level was under Creative Discernment. But, all the trainings were facilitated by the same trainer whom became the founder and Consultant Educator of Creative Discernment Smart Team, Creative Discernment Education and Training in Malaysia. The participants who attended the workshop training are those from counsellors, lecturers, psychologist and grandaunts who are working for their thesis (M.A. and doctorate). The pioneers have beenputting tremendous efforts since early 2014 to continue the practices and keeping up with the skills in Creative Arts Therapy from time to time. The three pioneers of Creative Arts Therapy applied their knowledge in arts therapy at school settings of their own interdiscipline which is secondary school levels and the pre-university level. The pioneers are full-time school counsellors and had been working for seven years in the profession. Some efforts in developing Creative Arts Therapy movement in Brunei carried out by the pioneers are such as incorporating the skills into the counseling sessions, in students development programs such as in orientation and camping activities, conducting sharing sessions between new counselors and lecturer as well as creating collaborative network between Brunei counselors and Malacca Counseling Association. 3. Research Objectives The research aims: 1) to expose the movement of Creative Arts Therapy in Brunei; 2) to share the benefits of Creative ArtsTherapy approaches in helping profession such as counseling and professional development programs for students. 4. Methodology This research will be a case study based on my previous counselling experience. This case study will be based on a real school situation.
