303 Proceedings of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Congress The Faculty of Fine Arts, Srinakharinwirot University, provides courses relating to the Art Therapy both for undergraduate and graduate degrees as the follows: Bachelor Programs in Art Education, Music Education and Thai-Western Dance offer VAE417 Art Therapy, VAE316 Arts Education for Special Needs Children, ED332 Special Education, MUE408 Teaching Music to Special Needs Students, FAE313 Gifted Children and Learning Process, FAE414 Learning Disabilities Children and Learning Process, PFA443 Dance Therapy; and Master Programs in Art Education, the courses are divided into 3 majors: 1) Visual Art Design offers AR617 Visual Art Therapy 2) Music Education offers ME627 Music Therapy and 3) Performing Arts offers PA637 Performing Art Therapy. Art Therapy, Music Therapy and Dance Movement Therapy are involving a relation between bodymovements and emotions which enable people to express their inner feelings.These therapies normally have been used to heal mental health conditions, for example, anxiety disorder, depression, schizophrenia and additive behaviors. They are also used to treat some severe pain in patients. They could help to relief stress and build up confidence. Furthermore, they are effective with disordered children, for instance, children who have conduct disorder, intellectual disorder, autistic spectrum disorder as well as blindness and hearing loss. As described above, the faculty realizes an importance of the Art Therapy and aims to instill it to students. Therefore, the courses are designed by integrating a voluntary activity as a part of teaching and learning. Students would have an opportunity to give a community service in Bangkok and upcountry. For example, Border Petrol Police School in Chanthaburi, Theparat Auricular School in Nakhon Nayok, Setsatian School under the Royal Patronage in Bangkok, Schools in Sa Kaeo, The Bangkok School for the blind, Thanyaporn Reception Home for Girls, The Training Centre for Girls Ban Pranee, Rajvithi Home for Girls, SocialWelfare Development Center for older persons, HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Medical Center, Faculty of Medicine, Srinakharinwirot University, Ongkharak Campus. Nevertheless, the faculty encourages teachers and graduate students to conduct research in the area of Art Therapy, Music Therapy and Dance MovementTherapy. To do this, students could perceive the fact that learningmusic in the classroom would be useful as long as they have not shared it to the people who might need it.
