(27) Proceedings of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Congress Message from Chairman of Academic Committee The year 2015marks one of themost important year for allThai people as they will celebrate the auspicious occasion of the 5 th Cycle Birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, 2 April 2015, the internationally well-respected and hard- working academic Princess, The Interdisciplinary Committee for Research and Development of the Office of the Royal Society, the Interdisciplinary Foundation for Research and Development, the Office of the Royal Society’s InterdisciplinaryNetwork under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness PrincessMaha Chakri Sirindhorn, the National Defence College of Thailand, the Association National Defence College of Thailand, the Office of the National Research Committee, the Office of the Higher Education Committee and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) agreed to join all Thai people to celebrate this auspicious occasion by hosting the Princess Maha Chakri SirindhornCongress, the Fifth InterdisciplinaryDayConference, under the theme “Interdisciplinary Approach to Sustainable Research and Development” from 3 to 4 June 2015 at IMPACT Forum, IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani, Nonthaburi, to pay tribute to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn for Her lifelong achievement in various academic, research and development areas, promote public awareness on the Interdisciplinary approach and promote the establishment of the interdisciplinary networks among local and international academicians and researchers. The Interdisciplinary Committee for Research and Development of the Office of the Royal Society is well aware of the untiring effort of Her Royal Highness PrincessMaha Chakri Sirindhorn topromote the InterdisciplinaryApproach invarious fields of national socio-economic development, the Committee, therefore, unanimously agreed to nominate Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn as the only one and first recipient of the Honorary Interdisciplinary Medal as a recognition of Her continuous works and achievements on the Interdisciplinary Approach.
