Pung Moji (Female, 30 years old): Left front foot trapped by landmines Treatment: April 5, 2001 - November 8, 2002 (Treatment period of 582 days) Moji’s wound trapped by landmine was infected and chronic. Because, when stepping on landmines, she was not promptly providedwith appropriate treatment by the keeper.The owner and keeper took traditional medication for the elephant about 1 month. She was then brought to elephant hospital. The wound occupied about 3/5 of the foot; the little finger, the third finger, and the forefinger were destroyed. The elephant could stand a bit of her weight. In general, her health was not quite healthy, rather thin. However, the elephant stayed for treatment until the wound was nearly recovered (remaining around 4 cm of length, 1 cm. of depth). The owner determined to bring her back and discharged on November 8, 2002. Upon returning home, the owner took her logging though persistent wound. Adversely, the wound got deeper with hematoma. The cow elephant stumbled accordingly. The Secretary informed veterinary to check it up. The veterinary investigated symptoms, cleaned wound and suggested wound-cleaning guidelines to the keeper for wound cleaning on daily basis. She must stop to work until the wound was completely recovered. If the wound was not get better, the elephant must be given the treatment immediately. 7. Pug Jampen (Female, 23 years old): Left front foot stepping on landmines Treatment: January 22, 2003 - May 27, 2006 (Treatment of 1,222 days)
