Provide additional vitamins and minerals to enrich elephant physiology 2.1 Vitamin/blood nourishment - Oral (blood nourishment FBC) - Injection into muscle (Vitamin B12) 30 cc. twice a week 2.2 Skin enriching vitamin - Oral (Cod liver oil) 25 pills a day - Injection (VitaminAD3E) 30 cc. into muscle once a day 2.3 B complex – Oral (Cod liver oil) 25 pills a day for 7 days 2.4 Multivitamin – Oral (Cod liver oil) 25 pills a day for 7 days Alternatively, blood nourishment, skin enriching vitamin, B Complex Vitamin and Multivitamin will be given a week. Elephants trapped in landmine took treatment at Elephant Hospital of Friends of the Asian Elephant Foundation 1. Plai Uan (Male, 3 years old): Left rear foot stepped on landmines Treatment: 1 st treatment: January 23, 1997 - March 1998 (Treatment period of 433 days) 2 nd treatment: February 5, 2000 - May 5, 2008 (Treatment period of 89 days) The elephant was treated twice of treatment because of persistent sores and return of inflammation. Treatment was given until the lesionwas completely healed, then it returned home.
