(25) Proceedings of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Congress Message from the Chairman of the Interdisciplinary Committee for Research and Development of the Office of the Royal Society of Thailand and the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Congress The PrincessMahaChakri SirindhornCongress, the Fifth InterdisciplinaryDayConference, is hosted to celebrate the auspicious occasion of the 5 th Cycle Birthday Anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, who has gracely granted Her Royal Patronage to the Royal Society’s Interdisciplinary Network since 2007. The Interdisciplinary Foundation for Research andDevelopment has, therefore, been set up to support various Network’s activities, with its priority objective of the establishment of the Interdisciplinary Institute to commemorate this auspicious occasion and pay tribute to Her untiring efforts in the promotion of interdisciplinary approach in various academic, research and training projects towards socio-economic national and international development. In order to join with all Thai people in the celebration of the auspicious occasion of the 5 th Cycle Birthday Anniversary of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, the Interdisciplinary Committee for Research and Development, the Royal Society of Thailand unanimously agreed to confer upon Her Royal Highness the first “Honorary Interdisciplinary Medal” in recognition of Her lifelong achievement in various interdisciplinary works and projects for the benefit of mankind.
