214 Proceedings of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Congress Introduction First of all, TDA would like to express its sincere thanks and high gratefulness to the government of JAPAN and Japanese people for the financial support, made via JAIF, to its MRCT landmine clearance project that shall clear 2,420,000 sq.m. of land in border area of Surin province, Thailand. Particular thanks are also given to responsible officers in Japanese Embassy inThailand, and to Japanese delegates appointed towork inASEANheadquarters who kindlymade a feasibility study onMRCTProject proposal. TDA also thanks ASEANSecretariat for your kind consideration of our project proposal and kind arrangement of fund remittance that can inaugurate the project. Local people living in the proximity of project area will be returned with safe area for their daily living lives, and for local development project which will promote the well-being of not onlyThais but also Cambodians in the opposite side. Special thanks are for theDepartment of International Organization, theMinistry of Foreign Affairs (Thai MFA) which has appointed the well-versed officers to dedicatedly supervise and assist the preparation of MRCT project proposal until the final approval have made by JAPAN. TDA also thank TMAC for continuous support, excellent collaboration, and facilities in TMAC building that allowMRCT project to operate smoothly. Many thanks are given to all TDA’s members who continuous to assist and support its landmine clearance activities. The operation of MRCT project, as of 28 May 2015, has made an excellent progress. TDA recruited qualified project personnel from itsmembers, established Bangkok offices and field office. CollaborationwithTMACand other related authorities had beenmade. All project equipment, tools are procured and imported successfully in the first 2months. Training for deminers and personnel involving in field operation had successfully been organized. After that, landmine clearance with LR process was executed by TDA’s field personnel. To honor and acknowledge donor, official ceremony presided over by H.E. Japanese ambassador toThailand was held in Bangkok on 21 July 2014. All MRCT project personnel especially deminers worked so hard trying to remove landmines from targeted land that more than 2,200 landmines/UXOs were deactivated and removed and 1,940,000 sq.m. (90%) of safe area were returned to local communities. No working accident was happen because all filed personnel strictly abide by SOP and other safety rule. TDA shall try to continue its hard and dedicated operation, and keep no accident record.
