190 Proceedings of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Congress 3. The CIMT and hormone level determination as a correlative data for prognosis The CIMT is the high technological method to evaluate the aging status inside the body which determine the real relative physiological property of blood vessel. In order to confirm the %stenosis from CIMT test whether have some correlation with abnormal hormone levels that could detect routinely in our facilities. The correlation coefficient statistical analysis using linear regression R2 was used to interpret the relation of two factors including %stenosis and some hormones level such as IGF-1 and sex hormones. In case of male patients could be distinctly identified as growth hormone deficiency whichwas indicated by reduction of IGF-1. Interestingly, the correlation coefficient indicated that the increasing of %stenosis in patient has relation with the reduction of IGF-1 level. The low level IGF-1 in Figure 4 (a) show the high level of %stenosis which is approximately 8 to 12%. In similarity, most male patients showed the reduction of free testosterone production which also significantly correlate with %stenosis Figure 4 (b). This analysis in male patients could be suggested that both different types of hormone imbalance were relevant with CIMT analysis. Whereas, very low level of estrogen in female patients become the critical incident as menopause. Moreover, the statistical analysis showed the similar correlate with %stenosis as male, Figure 4 (b). Although, female patients seem to have less problem of growth hormone deficiency than male, thus the %stenosis analysis in particular patients was not suggested as correlative data with IGF-1 level, Figure 4 (a). It possibly implied that female patients have more exercise activity and low risk factors than male. This may involve in lesser %stenosis Figure 3 The steroid casecade shows that precursor of cell steroid hormones is cholesterol. Then cholesterol is converted to Pregnenolone, Progesterone, Mineralocorticoids, Glucocorticoids, Androgen, and female sex hormone [10].
