This theory is one of the most comprehensive studies of values in the University is influenced by various different cultures from many countries around the world. With the endorsement of Professor Geert Hofstede and his varied and numerous academic and cultural activities in many different countries, he can be regarded as one of the leading representatives for intercultural researches and studies. The findings of his research and his theoretical ideas are used worldwide in both psychology and management studies. There are six culture and management dimensions. (1) Power Distance Index (PDI) The fundamental issue is how a society handles inequalities among people. People in societies exhibiting a large degree of power distance accept a hierarchical order inwhich everybody has a place and which needs no further justification. In societies with low power distance, people strive to equalize the distribution of power and demand justification for inequalities of power. (2) Individualism versus Collectivism (IDV) Individualism is expected to take care of only themselves and their immediate families. Its opposite, collectivism, represents a preference for their relatives or members of a particular in-group to look after them in exchange for unquestioning loyalty. A society’s position on this dimension is reflected whether people’s self-image is defined in terms of “I” or “We”.
