158 Proceedings of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Congress THE EVALUATION OF LEARNING MANAGEMENT CAPABILITY OF THE THIRD YEAR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS THROUGH MENTORSHIP MODEL Areewan Iamsa-ard Department of English Language, Faculty of Education Abstract : The purposes for this researchwere to study (1) the level of the third year undergraduate students’ independent project listening portfolio based on the given criteria (2) the level of the third year undergraduate students’ teaching listening skills based on the given criteria (3) the level of the students’ listening skills based on the given criteria (4) the causal relationship between independent project listening portfolio, teaching skills and students’ listening skills based on the given criteria and (5) the level of satisfaction of the third year undergraduate students’ in studying the Independent Studies subject using thementorshipmodel.The sample included (1) 120 English major students of the third year, Faculty of Education, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University. (2) 216 primary students at Primary Demonstration School of Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University and (3) 75 secondary students at PrimaryDemonstration School of Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University. Research instruments were (1) Lesson plans (2) Evaluation form and (3) The survey form. Data was statistically analyzed in mean, standard deviation, t-test, and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient. The results showed that 1. The results of the third year undergraduate students’ independent project listening portfolio evaluation divided into 3 groups: Starters-Movers-Flyers are generally found at “Good” level, which is higher than the criteria 3.50 at significance level .01. After item analysis, all of them are rated at the “Good” level, and are also higher than the criteria 3.50 at significance level .01. 2. The results of the third year undergraduate students’ teaching listening skills evaluation divided into 3 groups: Starters-Movers-Flyers are generally found at “Good” level, which is higher than the criteria 3.50 at significance level .01. After itemanalysis, all of themare rated at the “Good” level, and are also higher than the criteria 3.50 at significance level .01. 3. The results of the students’ listening skills based on the criteria for Grade 1-8 (Starters- Movers-Flyers) on the given criteria 13.00 are generally found at “Good” level, which is higher than the criteria 13.00 at significance level .01. After item analysis, all of them are rated at the “Good” level, and are also higher than the criteria 13.00 at significance level .01. 4. The independent project listening portfolio, teaching listening skills and students’ listening skills were positively related at the significance level .01.The independent project listening portfolio has a direct effect positively on teaching listening skills at significance level .01 and has an indirect effect on students’ listening skills through teaching listening skills at significance level
