90 Proceedings of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Congress 1.2 Indoor and Vertical Agriculture The agricultural production will be likely entered into the environmental control system completely due to difficulty to find out an abundant agricultural area and the technology of environmental control is dramatically increasing up. Indoor planting rice currently achieves to produce the good quality rice throughout the year by using artificial lamp light. The yielding of indoor poultry farming does not differentiate from outdoor poultry farming. In Hong Kong, the productivity of grouper culture on the rooftop gets the good rate of return but the production cost is still higher than in general. If the food price trend is increasing up to the break-even point of production, we believe that agricultural farming on the rooftop will be seen as a normal practice. 1.3 Bio-technology and Genetic Engineering in Agriculture Biotechnology and genetic engineering are even more important for modifying the living organisms according tohumanpurposes by using the selective breeding to improve production of crops and livestock to use them for food and to produce enough food to support a population growth. Moreover, it can contribute to be medicine or the nutrient profile for human bod. 1.4 Chemical Agriculture change to Bio-agriculture Chemical Agriculturewill dramatically change to Bio-agriculture or organic agriculture more.
