Its principle and practice come from the Buddhist Scriptures which refer to the work of Jivaka-komarabhacca, the Buddha’s personal physician, who was knowledgeable about herbal medicine. Thai traditional medicine holds to naturalistic approach and holistic medication. It asserts the relationship of body and mind which need to be cured simultaneously. Nowadays, Thai traditional medicine is more accepted and valued by postmodern perspectives which promote constructive realism and strangification. Thus, it is as important as Western medicine in health care and medication of humankind today. keywords : Thai traditional medicine, naturalism, holistic medication, postmodernism
