It involves a large number of personnel in various fields : artists, artisans, business people, legal personnel, academics, and teachers. The Thai performing arts comprise various forms of singing, dancing, and dance dramas, some of them traditional performances that have been carried on for centuries, some developed from old performances, and others that have been newly created. These performances have been studied in many formal and informal educational institutions and thousands of professional graduates have been produced for the labor market each year. The production of performances includes live performances, performances through media, and reproduction for sale in great number. Such production consists of business and industrial processes that cover both domestic and overseas markets. Looking at the overall picture of Thai performing industry, it is found to be important qualitatively and quantitatively in the mainstream of the countryûs cultural economic system. There should be a clear study of the status of this industry in order for us to understand and cooperate to promote a benefit for the cultural industry. Key word : Thai performing industry
