The purpose of creating mural paintings is to use them as a medium to convey knowledge about dharma and to feel grief through using dharma to understand that the body must inevitably perish. The mural paintings of the Rattanakosin Period often depicted the stories of the Buddhaûs lives such as when he was reincarnated as Prince Vessantara, and the Ten Incarnations of the Buddha or Thossachat. The format of such paintings is employed as a means to convoy the essence of dharma to Buddhists to enable them to observe the practice of dharma to their benefit. Key words : bot (convocation hall), drum face, hong-wall spaces in a temple on which murals are painted, Subduing Mora, Painting depicting a gathering of devas
